Kate Elizabeth Winslet is an English actress working in Hollywood for the past year. Her mother Sally Bridges-Winslet and Roger Winslet were also stage actors of their age. She was born in Reading, Berkshire, England on October 5, 1975. She is 37 years of age now. Kate Winslet’s siblings include two sisters Beth Winslet and Anna Winslet and one brother Joss Winslet.

Kate Winslet married three times. Firstly she was married with Jim Threapleton in 1998 and they seperated in 2001. Kate Winslet started her career from Television. Her first contribution was in a children’s science fiction serial Dark Season which was on aired on BBC in those days. Then right after that, in 1992, she was seen appearing in a short TV film Anglo-Saxon Altitude. In 1993, her roles were very significant in a sitcom Get Back and a medical drama Casualty. In the following year 1995, Winslet interviewed for a British-American film Sense and Sensibility in which she was casted as Elinor’s sister Marianne. The producer and other team members admired Winslet’s performance in that particular film. This gave more coverage to her career and she started taking part in several films of very famous director, writers and producers.
