His father’s name was Veeru Devgan who was a director and action choreographer and his mother’s name was Veena Devgan who was a film producer his brother Anil Devgan is a Hindi film director he belongs to a The Mukherjee-Samarth Devgan family and all were related to Hindi Film Industry. His residence is in Mumbai. His age now is 44.

He started his career as a child actor in Pyari Behna. He made his debut as an actor in Bollywood in 1991 in movie named Phool Aur Kaante, which was hit at box office and earned a Filmfare Award for him for best male newcomer. In 1992 Ajay started showing his abilities and talent in Bollywood martial arts action romantic films like Jigar. In 2006 Ajay has worked in many comedy films like Golmaal, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge and Golmaal returs. Although it is very tough for an action or romantic hero to work in a comedy film as a lead role but he has shown his abilities through his hard work that he can do any sort of acting either action, romantic or comedy.He has worked in many films and won many Awards for his performance and acting.
